Defense Management Graduate Programs Purpose and Content of the Program

1. Defense Management program at Turkish Military Academy Defense Sciences Institute is designed to provide a defense-focused, research-oriented and interdisciplinary graduate education. The overriding objective of the program is to provide students with the analytical skills and critical thinking ability to solve problems and make decisions they confront in both operational and staff jobs. The students develop an understanding and appreciation of the concepts, techniques, and analytical decision-making skills related to modern management and organizational principles. This interdisciplinary program, integrates with human resources management, organizational behavior, management theory, economics, philosophy of science, and research methods. As a result, students develop the analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills not only to understand and critically assess the processes by which management in an organization is accomplished, but also to collect data, evaluate written research, and analyze products of others throughout their careers.

Defense Management Graduate Programs: In today's work environment in which an individual focused management and a strategic point of view is dominant, change is to up skill students and inform them about contemporary management and organizational principles and approaches together with how to use the theories, strategies and approaches. With the help of this program, the students will get the opportunity to comprehend the factors enclosing the managements in a global perspective and they will make great progress in making a difference both professionally and personally.

The general purpose of the masters program with thesis is to provide with giving the ability to attain information through scientific research; to evaluate and interpret the information. Through the defense management masters degree with thesis, it is aimed to give students the conceptual information on defense management and management issues and the ability to evaluate this information.

The general purpose of the postgraduate program is to provide the qualifications of doing a research independently, making interpretations by studying the scientific incidents with a broad and profound point of view. With the Defense Management postgraduate program, the aim is to help the candidates create a profound perspective in analytic and conceptual synthesis about the subjects of defense management and to help them achieve specialty for analyzing the dynamic and variable structure of the sector.

2. Leadership Program Purpose and Content of the Program,
Change has altered  the qualifications expected from leaders and managers in today's working environment which is dominated by human focused management and strategic point of view. On the other hand, the post modern point of view about executive and organizational issues led to the questioning of classical approaches. Today, the path to efficient leadership is through some qualifications such as understanding organizational and executive events correctly; comprehending the reasons beneath human behaviours; having the ability to think strategically; managing human capital efficiently; making right decisions when faced with complicated and unclear situations; displaying various leadership behaviours in necessary situations and conditions.; having the ability to impress the colleagues. In this context, the need of education about leadership has become one of the most required issues today.

The purpose of the leadership masters program is to give students basic information about understanding and interpreting  modern management and organization principles and approaches  in today's working environment which is dominated by change, human focused management and strategic point of view apart from that it up skills students for  how to use strategy and approaches. Through this program, students will have the opportunity to understand the factors surrounding the managements within a global perspective and they will be able to take important steps towards making a difference both in personal sense and in professional sense.
