OPERATIONS RESEARCH

Purpose and Content of fhe Program

Operations research is an approach of problem solving which was developed for assisting the enactor to make decisions. Operations research is used for solving the problems about portioning out the limited number of resources to various activities in optimal way. In this context, operations research is an approach which has the opportunity for practice in many fields such as industry, transportation, education, economy, banking, agriculture, health and especially military activities. The courses offered in the context of this program aim to teach students the necessary methodologies that will help them make better decisions in the organizations they take place. The program also aims to teach them the means and technical information that constitutes the necessary scientific background for the planning and application of the military activities at strategic, operational and tactical levels efficiently. The major fields of interest are analysis, design, modeling, planning, production and service systems management and checkouts.

The general purpose of the masters program with thesis is to bring in the skills of reaching the information about the research and the evaluation and interpretation of it. By means of the Operations Research masters program with thesis, it is aimed that the participants acquire the conceptual information and the skill to evaluate that information.

The general purpose of the doctorate program is to give the ability to do an independent research, to make interpretations by studying the incidents thoroughly and to determine the necessary steps to reach a new synthesis. By means of Operations Research doctorate program, it is aimed that the participants acquire the proficiency at forming a conceptual and analytic synthesis and observing the changeable and dynamic structure of the sector.
